The 10 women of the 2017 tour of the Prairie Women on Snowmobiles (PWOS) accompanied by a crew of eight with a van and flatbed truck, pulled into Kamsack late Sunday afternoon to spend their first night of the tour.

New projects for both Kamsack Comprehensive Institute and Victoria School have become a reality thanks to the Sunrise Health Region, said Heather Netzel, the Community School Co-ordinator at both schools.

Yorkton MLA and Rural and Remote Health Minister Greg Ottenbreit has been diagnosed with colorectal cancer, said a release from the Saskatchewan Party caucus on Friday.

During the month of February, two “fun” events are being held at the Kamsack Comprehensive Institute in support of the Kinsmen’s Telemiracle 2017, which is being held the first weekend of March.

Junior curling teams from Sturgis, Preeceville, Canora and Norquay had fun and received some extra ice time prior to districts that were held in Yorkton on January 27 and 28 by participating in a mini bonspiel at the Sturgis Curling rink on January 2

The Ed Nelson rink of Pelly won the first event of the 18-rink Norquay Open Bonspiel held January 18 to 22. Curling with Nelson, who played third, were: Zack Newell, skip; Evan Rostotski, second, and Kenny Klimchuk, lead.

Award-winning musician Eric Harper and his fiery flamenco guitar will be performing February 11at the Kamsack Playhouse Theatre.

Members of the executive committee of the Norquay branch of the Royal Canadian Legion were re-elected for another year during the annual meeting on January 8.
