White crosses, red poppies and miniature Canadian Flags were placed on the graves of district veterans and Legion members during the annual Decoration Day service held at Riverview Cemetery in Kamsack on Sunday.

A performance by Saskatchewan Express will be among the highlights of a three-day celebration at the end of July that will mark the centennial of Arran.

Wendy Naclia, health services manager at Norquay, welcomed everyone to the event staged on May 27 to recognize employees of the Sunrise Health Region who work at the Norquay Health Centre.

Last week Kamsack Mayor Rod Gardner, his wife Vi and Councillor Joe Kozakewich and his wife Debbie spent time in the Gardners’ garage assembling 18 new chairs that have been purchased for the Assiniboine Valley Medical Centre.
