The Saskatchewan Weekly Newspaper Association (SWNA) awards the best in print each year at the annual Better Newspaper Competition. Yorkton This Week took home one first-place, three second-place and four third-place prizes.

A semi and a pickup truck collided in a fatal accident south of Yorkton last Friday. A northbound semi crashed head-on with a southbound pickup truck on Highway 9 south of Yorkton on Apr. 27. The vehicles spun into the east and west ditches.

A Yorkton man has been found guilty of sexual assault. Kenneth Hasper was found guilty of the lone charge of sexual assault in Court of Queen’s Bench in Yorkton. The charges stem from an incident on June 23 of 2017.
