The Yorkton Chamber of Commerce announces that no election will be required for the 8 positions on the Chamber’s 2016 Board of Directors as only 8 nominations were received.

Three Yorkton residents have been arrested for drug trafficking as the result of an investigation by the Saskatchewan Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit dubbed F-Jackpot.

The city of Yorkton is currently experiencing an increase in the number of pertussis cases. So far, people from 1 to 45 years have been affected. However, most cases have been seen in adolescents.

A 30-year-old Yorkton man accused of an assault that left another man paralyzed has pleaded not guilty and will be tried May 17, 2016.

During the week of Nov. 2 - 6, 2015, the programs and services provided by Sunrise Health Region were reviewed by Accreditation Canada and compared against national standards of excellence.

Health promotion grant applications are being accepted until Dec. 3. Grants of up to $2,000 per project are offered through the Sunrise Health Region.
