By Breanna Morin The Pelly Carol Festival, which was held this year at the Pelly Community Hall on December 13, included a mixture of about a dozen performances. Featured were vocalists, musicals, a nativity scene and choirs.

By Breanna Morin The Town of Norquay held its annual Santa Day on December 5 with a variety of fun activities for the whole family. The day started at 8 a.m. with a pancake breakfast at the Community Hall.

The Norquay branch of the Royal Canadian Legion held a Christmas party on December 17 with members and guests attending from Pelly and Sturgis areas as well. Laura Dahl was emcee for the evening.

The Preeceville Atom Pats saw home-game action on December 19, when the Cote Chiefs were in town. The Pats controlled the game from the beginning, culminating in a 26-0 shutout.

All through the month of December, the residents and staff at the Preeceville and District Health Centre, LTC wing, have been enjoying the Christmas season through crafts and special events.

Santa Claus made one last stop on his way back to the North Pole when he stopped briefly in Sturgis during the late night shopping event on December 17.

Santa Claus made a special trip to Preeceville on December 11, taking time out of his busy schedule to visit with children in the Preeceville and Sturgis area.

Heath Dreger, the Region 3 director of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation, gave a detailed report on December 13 at the annual meeting and horn measuring day for the Preeceville branch of the SWF.
