Residents of the Canora Gateway Lodge were entertained by singing and guitar playing by Eugene Tretiak of Rama and Ross Baldwin of Yorkton. They also provided the entertainment on September 9 at the Invermay Health Centre and Gateway Lodge.

A Canora man has come into possession of a historic quilt sewn by rural women as therapy during the Second World War.

Canora Composite School golf club members hosted a successful golf tournament on September 19. The tournament, which was held at the Canora Golf and Country Club, brought in 68 golfers from 12 schools in the Canora area.

The Canora Composite School had another successful series of races while taking part in the Deer Park Cross-Country Meet. The Canora Composite School cross-country team sent 16 students to the meet, with nine placing in the top 10 for their race.

Due to dry weather and wind, the harvesting progress is now only two per cent below the five-year average.

The arena for mayor of Yorkton is a crowded one, with four candidates vying for the position. Among those candidates is a newcomer to municipal politics Andrew Probe. Probe says he believes there is a need for new ideas on Yorkton Council.

Chris Wyatt, who currently sits on Yorkton Council, and is a former Mayor, wants the big chair back.
