The 606 Harvard Squadron has operated in the community of Preeceville for the last 60 years.

The Preeceville Curling Club held its annual meeting to discuss various topics on October 5. The executive will remain the same as last year, as members serve two-year terms, said Lynn Larsen, secretary.

The Sturgis Community Hall hosted a used clothing sale that featured an assortment of clothing for all ages on October 15. "The annual sale is a fundraiser for the hall and is a fun day for shoppers," said Hazel Urbanoski, hall committee member.

The Preeceville Panthers senior football team traveled to Watson on October 14 with high hopes of adding another win to its record. "The team was not denied as we walked away with a great win with a score of 32-20," said Jeremy Mattison, coach.

The Preeceville junior football team continued its undefeated season with another win on the board on October 11 when the team defeated Wakaw 35-7 at home. "The team has had a great season with an undefeated season to date," said Bill Dodge, coach.

The annual October trade show attracted 45 vendors to the Preeceville Community Hall on October 8. The Preeceville Fire Department hosted the annual show and provided the important messages of fire prevention and the importance of smoke detectors.

About 120 Canora residents took the opportunity to listen to the nominees who are seeking the seven seats on town council during an all-candidates forum held last week.

The Canora Composite School cross-country team continues to impress parents and coaches by having 14 students place in the top 10 of their respective races.

The Canora Hospital Auxiliary October Pie and Coffee event had an increase in attendance from last year, according to event organizer, Laurie Wasylyw.

The students of Canora Junior Elementary School are learning how to keep themselves and others safe in emergencies with several activities in conjunction with Fire Safety Week.
