Yorkton Council has declared Oct. 31 to Nov. 6 as Agriculture Week in the city.

Veteran’s Week has been declared in Yorkton for Nov. 5-to-11. It was a unanimous decision by Yorkton Council after receiving the request from the General Alexander Rose Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion.

Teams of three youngsters each took turns getting to a wild pony in order to allow one onto its back, while another holds a tether restraining the animal in the wild pony rides that were an extra feature at the Kamsack indoor rodeo.

The Town of Kamsack was awarded “four Blooms” in the 2016 Saskatchewan Communities in Bloom competition. Entered in the category for communities with a population from 1,001 to 2,000, Kamsack, along with Shaunavon received four Blooms.

This outreach centre, where people suffering sickness can have a safe environment for counselling and healing, is a good start, Chief George Cote of Cote First Nation said October 3 during the ceremony held to mark the centre’s official opening.
