Luisa Marshall, a Vancouver-based entertainer who has made a name for herself as a Tina Turner impersonator and is on tour with her Hope Beyond Thunderdome show, will be performing at the Kamsack Legion Hall tonight (June 30).

A total of $3,643 was raised for the Heart and Stroke Foundation after its Big Bike drove through the community on June 14.

Century Field in Yorkton, for the sixth year in a row, was the venue to host the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life fundraiser.

Prairie Soil Services donated $,1500 towards the fireworks that will be held on Canada Day in Norquay. Patty Strocen, accounting and administration manager presented the money to Norquay Mayor Don Tower.

Canadians had the opportunity to acknowledge National Aboriginal Day on June 21 and at the TD Canada Trust branch in Kamsack, clients were able to sample bannock supplied by Anita Tourangeau.

The St. Patrick’s Preeceville Catholic Women’s League installed a new executive committee with Kathleen Pitt, past president, welcoming the new members. The induction ceremony was held at the Sturgis Roman Catholic Church on April 24.
