For the second year in a row, the A event final of the Canora Men’s Bonspiel was decided in an extra end. This year’s event was held from March 6 to 10.

Kurt Hoffman, Riley Richards and Kaitlynne Hoffman of Yorkton Regional High School took top honours at this year’s SHSAA Provincial Wrestling Championships. Richards finished first in his weight class -- 115 kg, as did Hoffman in the 100kg.

The first “Grassy Knoll Hockey Classic” fundraiser was recently held near Kamsack. The event was staged at Len Reibin’s acreage on February 16. “It took many ‘younger stars’ to educate the ‘golden oldies’ on marginal ice,” said Reibin after the game.

The Preeceville Figure Skating Club presented Candy Land, The World of Sweets ,through its annual ice carnival held at the Preeceville Skating Arena on March 15.

The mixed curling foursome representing CCS (Canora Composite School) played in the SHSAA (Saskatchewan High School Athletic Association) provincial mixed curling championship in Nipawin on March 8 and 9.

On March 3 the Togo Figure Skating Club held its annual Ice Carnival at the Togo Centennial Arena. Called the Kaleidoscope of Colours, the carnival featured skaters from age three to 16, in Beginners to Group 5.

The Canora IP Cobras came through with a sudden death overtime victory to win the B side of a tournament held in Yorkton on March 2 and 3.
