The Yorkton Terriers made some trades throughout the summer that brought in a few new faces to this season’s roster.

Gage Bush, one of Yorkton’s most decorated young athletes, is heading off to compete at another power lifting competition this weekend. He’ll be competing at the 2017 CPU Western Powerlifting & Bench Press Championships in Winnipeg on Sept. 10.

The start of a new school year also means the start of new school sports teams.

It’s been a busy week for the Yorkton Terriers. It all started last Thursday when they hosted their annual summer golf tournament fundraiser at Deer Park Golf Course.

A young Cote First Nation archer has returned from the North American Indigenous Games in Toronto July 15 to 23 with a bronze medal, one of a collection of 12 medals he has won since picking up the sport about a year ago.

On Wednesday, Sept. 6, the annual fall community information and registration night will be held in the Nexera Flexihall at the Gallagher Centre.

It was perfect weather for disc golf as a sold out field took to the greens of Patrick Park Disc Golf Course in Yorkton for the Grain Millers Trilogy Challenge.

The Canora Ladies’ Golf Club held its annual golf tournament on August 12, said club representative Maxine Stinka. Twenty-one women attended and enjoyed a beautiful sunny day with no wind as they golfed 18 holes of stroke play.
