It was a great showing for Yorkton last week at the 2017 ECDAA Track and Field meet.

The Sturgis Lacrosse team, which includes players from Kamsack, Norquay and Pelly, has been practicing for its first game which was played yesterday (May 24) against Yorkton.

Preeceville School was represented by 40 athletes who exceeded all expectations at the pre-district track-and-field meet in Yorkton on May 17. "I am so very proud of the athletes and what they accomplished," said Cary Franklin, coach.

Four high performance baseball coaches visited Yorkton last weekend to host clinics with athletes from the Parkland. Regina Baseball & Softball Indoor Training (RBI Training) hosted two spring clinics on Saturday, May 20 at Jubilee Park.

The May long weekend capped off an exciting high school football career for three athletes who started playing for the Yorkton Junior Saints football program.

On Friday, former Saskatchewan Roughrider Ventson Donelson paid a visit to Yorkdale Central School to put on a speech for students from grades 5-8. The Detroit native has a long football resume.

Seven players from the Yorkton Terriers junior A hockey team graduated from the team at the end of the 2016-2017 season. As of now, four of those players have made commitments to play at the university level.

Bankhead Sports Academy made its second annual appearance in Yorkton last weekend. The football camps, led by head instructor John Bankhead, took place over a three-day span.
