The Sacred Heart Saints senior boys basketball team left Yorkton on Friday to take part in a two-day basketball tournament in Estevan. They came back with the third place plaque, a 2-1 record and the knowledge that they can play with anyone.

Both the Yorkton Regional High School Senior Boys and Girls basketball teams were in action this past weekend. The girls headed to Weyburn for a tournament while the boys ventured to Melfort for a two-day tournament of their own.

The Yorkton Terriers made a two-game road swing on the weekend, losing both. Terrier head coach Trent Cassan said the two losses were not the kind of effort he wants to see from his team.

The Yorkton Midget Kinsmen Terriers became the fifth victim of the Swift Current K-Motel Hurricanes winning streak this past Saturday, dropping a 6-2 decision to the third place club at the Farrell Agencies Arena in Yorkton.

On Saturday, January 4 District 12 4-H held their annual curling bonspiel in Yorkton. The event was hosted by the Happy Centre Light Horse 4-H Club. A total of 10 teams, four senior and six junior, participated in the bonspiel.
