The Saskatchewan Roughriders wasted a prime opportunity to show they are a contender against the Calgary Stampaders on Saturday.

The Yorkton Harvest wrapped up their first quarter of action by splitting a pair of games last week. The two points sit the Harvest in fourth spot in the SMAAAHL standings with a 5-4-1-1 record.

Kees Yorkton took a team of five young competitors to the 30th annual Grandmaster KH Min's tournament in Edmonton on Oct. 19. The event had over 300 competitors.

The YRHS Raiders senior girls volleyball team edged the Saints in the SHHS gym on Oct. 19 to win the seven-team tournament. The Raiders kicked off and ended the tourney by knocking off the Saints.

The Sacred Heart Saints Jr. Boys volleyball team took part in the East Central District Championship this past weekend in Kamsack. The team had a very successful season up until this point, making the finals of every tournament they competed in.

The Yorkton bantam UCT 'AA' Terriers extended their winning streak to four straight on the weekend with a pair of wins. In their first game of the week on Friday, the Terriers knocked off the Weyburn Crescent Point Wings 4-2 on the road.

The YRHS Raider Gridders senior football team is one away from a 3A 12-man championship. The Raider Gridders advanced to the Moose Jaw High School Football League finals, where they will meet the Peacock Tornadoes on Nov.

The Calgary Flames need the right architect to turn their franchise around in their rebuild. That man is Brian Burke. Burke holds the title as the Flames' president of hockey operations.
