Sacred Heart High School is hosting a girls' basketball tournament on Feb. 11 as the girls pick up their Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association basketball schedule in 2012. The draw includes four teams.

The Yorkton Harvest have played what was guaranteed to be their final game of the season on home ice, but they ended up playing like it was their most important game of the season. The season comes to an end officially, next Sunday, Feb.

The fabulous Harlem Crowns basketball team is returning to the City for an evening of basketball tonight at the Yorkton Regional High School. There will be three games tonight. The Crowns team will take on the YRHS senior boys team starting at 7 p.m.

The York City Classic was held over the weekend, co-hosted by the Yorkton Regional High School and the Sacred Heart High School.

The New Waterford Coal Bowl Classic is a national invitational boy's high school basketball tournament held in Nova Scotia.

The Yorkton Terriers grabbed five of a possible eight points on the week and remain in second spot in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's Sherwood Conference.

Two weekends ago, (Jan. 13-15), the Yorkton United Bulldogs Under-12 boys soccer team travelled to the Annual Regina Soccer Association tournament in Regina.

Yorkdale Central Public School hosted a six-team tournament at the end of January, said Jason Boyda, head coach of the girls team.

The bantam UCT Terriers hosted the West Central Wheat Kings over the weekend and lost 7-5. West Central scored four unanswered goals in the third period.

The SJHL Terriers and Hyundai of Yorkton got together over the weekend to promote hockey throughout the minor ranks.
