YTW sports year end review 2011

B3Xtreme Sports in Yorkton will be creating a Ambition/B3 snowskate team this winter. Ambition is a company that sells snowskates and issued a press release recently that they will be sponsoring a local snowskate team.

The Cab Male Athlete of the Month was a very busy athlete this fall at Sacred Heart. Anthony Fetsch played on the boys' soccer team and was a dominant force as SHHS went into a shootout for provincial gold with Evan Hardy of Saskatoon.

The Yorkton UCT Terriers played two games over the weekend, one at home and one away. On Sunday afternoon, in a game against the Regina Hurricanes, a three-goal first period output saw Yorkton squeak out a 4-2 win.

The Yorkton Storm Speed Swim Club took to the water last week to kick off their season by hosting their annual swim meet. According to meet manager, Trevor Baker there were over 657 entries in the meet this year.
