Deer Park Municipal Golf Course in Yorkton will be holding a Seniors Open today. Additional information may be obtained by contacting Allan Sauser at Deer Park at 786-1711. The Club Championship will be held Aug. 20-21.

It was the Yorkton Junior Cardinals and the Willowbrook Royals in the final series of the South East Senior Baseball League and the Cardinals went three up three down to win the championship title.

There was an awful lot of golf played both locally and on the professional scene last week. The SGI Canada Junior Order of Merit Tour was played at both York Lake Golf and Country Club and at Deer Park Municipal golf course.

The Men's Open was held over the weekend at Deer Park Municipal Golf Course. About 65 players took part in the two-day event. The tournament was broken down into Flites. First through seven, and the Championship Flite. Each Flite had a winner.

For anyone interested in becoming a football official this season, the Yorkton Minor Football Association is searching for anyone interested to let them know immediately.

In a season where the Yorkton Cardinals managed only 14 Western Major Baseball League wins the one near-constant highlight was James Green on the base-paths.

The Parkland Racing Association will be holding their monthly race date on Aug. 21 at the Yellowhead International Speedway. The event is sponsored by Deluxe Motorworks and Wholesale Transmission and Differential. Racing begins at 2 p.m.
