The Good Spirit Cross Country Ski Club hosted a first of its kind in the province, a night loppet called the Lamplighter Loppet.

The hours of operation for the Gloria Hayden Centre are as follows. Oct. 3-May 22, Monday-Friday 9-12 noon and 1-10 p.m. Saturday and Sundays, 12 noon-5 p.m. Please call 786-1776 for more information.

It's another frustrating end to the post season for the Yorkton Harvest. It came along on Monday night. The nemesis was the same as it was last year.

Outdoor skating rinks in Yorkton have been constructed are ready for use weather permitting. The rinks are located at: the Knights of Columbus Park, Heritage Heights, Silver Heights Park, Weinmaster Park, and Appleton Park.

Bongo Volleyball wrapped up last Sunday afternoon at the Yorkton Regional High School and two other locations. It was held Feb. 19-20. "We had 27 team take part.

The City ofYorkton will be one of four new cities to feature a newball hockey league this year and one of seven in the province.

The Yorkton Martial Arts Training Centre is hosting its 7th Annual Abominable Snow Slam this Saturday afternoon at Dr. Brass Elementary School.

The Yorkton Regional High School and Sacred Heart will get one last chance at some practice this weekend when the Regional hosts a mini four-team tournament. Playing will be both Yorkton schools as well as Weyburn and Melville.

It wasn't much more then a year ago today when the Yorkton AAA Harvest found themselves in the same situation. Playing against exactly the same team in the exact same arena, with nearly the same score and unfortunately the exact same result.

Nearly 20 young girls showed up Sunday evening at a females-only softball practice that was held at the Gloria Hayden Centre.
