Preeceville Progress

It has long been my expectation that farming would become a sector where robotic machinery would become a major element of operations. Talk to producers and one of the major issues they face is finding reliable staff.

It is at this time of year it seems more important than usual to take stock of our lives and assess how we have come through the last 12 months.

The Preeceville Nursery School sponsored a shopping spree raffle with Marc Kovacs winning the main prize on December 15. "The raffle winner had the option to pick the 90-minute shopping spree or a $250 cash prize," said Lori Newton, teacher.

The Preeceville School elementary students performed for family members and friends in the annual traditional Christmas concert on December 19. Emma Covlin and Brady Kashuba were the emcees.

The Preeceville midget hockey team played a home game against Esterhazy/ Churchbridge on December 10. The Pats fought hard but fell short with a loss of 5-3. Scoring for Preeceville were Sean Paligan (two goals) and Zac McGrisken.

Sturgis students and staff present "a little bit of Christmas"

The generations following mine will not be able to comprehend some of the old adages, as the adages probably won’t relate to anything that they would know. What the heck is he talking about, you wonder. Well, let’s start with money.

Soon the rifles from hunting season will be put away and outdoor enthusiasts across the province will switch their focus to getting out to do some ice fishing.

The Kelvington 4-H Beef Club held its monthly meeting December 11, followed by a curling Christmas party and a potluck supper at the Kelvington curling rink.
