Since 1990, people across Canada have been crowding into churches and theatres to hear Charles Dickens’ timeless story read aloud over the holiday season.

The Preeceville Pats hockey teams took to the ice in full force with the novices, peewees, atoms and bantams all playing home games. The peewee hockey team took on Wynyard on November 13.

Members of the Sturgis READ Club are celebrating the conclusion of the renovations to the building.

Members of the Preeceville Walking Club have been walking for the betterment of their physical and mental health, beginning on November 2. The group plans to conclude its season at the end of March.

“Walking is one of the best exercises for all age groups and it is free,” said Eugene Boychuk, one of the organizers of the Sturgis indoor walking program. The Sturgis indoor walking program kicked off for another season on November 3.

The Preeceville and District Mushers Rendezvous committee has been busy with organizational meetings for the annual Rendezvous being held on February 3, 4 and 5.
