Premier Scott Moe today fulfilled his commitment to reinstate the Provincial Sales Tax (PST) exemption for agriculture, life and health insurance premiums, effective today.

The Yorkton Music Festival is making its big return next month. The event runs from March 7 to March 25. There will be band, choral, vocal, and piano performances spread across the month.

If Matheus Bortolin was home, it would be the middle of summer, though the weather might be rain it would be over 30 degrees Celsius. Right now, he’s surrounded by snow and enjoying his first Canadian winter.

The Yorkton Kinsmen Terriers have eliminated the Lumsden/Bethune Lions in the opening round of the South Saskatchewan Minor Hockey League’s AA Midget Division playoffs. The series got under way last Tuesday with Yorkton hosting the Lions.

The Yorkton RawTec Maulers find themselves at one game apiece with Regina in their best-of-five series. Game one of the Saskatchewan AAA Midget League series was played Saturday in Regina.

The Yorkton Public Library is open at 9 a.m. Monday-Friday. --- Parkinson’s Support Group Meeting, Thurs., March 22 at 2 p.m. at the Yorkton & District Nursing Home (Business Office entrance). All Parkinson’s patients and interested persons welcome.

The closing arguments were made in the sexual assault trial of Kenneth Hasper.

Yorkton Council has approved its operation and capital budgets. The decision, by a four to two vote, was made at the regular meeting of Council last Tuesday, rubber stamping the documents first released in January.
