Yorkton This Week

Mr. Don Neudorf of Yorkton, beloved partner of Myrt Derbowka, passed away Monday, July 10, 2017. Donald Nathaniel Neudorf was born at home on October 30, 1943 in Hazel Dell, SK to Paul and Elena Neudorf. He was the eldest of seven children.

By almost three, her siblings had vocabularies like small dictionaries. But our fifth grandbean Lois spoke only a few words. Mama. Nana. Up. Buh buh, (Bye, bye). And “SHUSH!” She used that one often, especially on loudmouthed Ernie, our parrot.

Continuing with games in the mancala family it is the week for Oware. It is played in the Ashanti Region, Ghana and throughout the Caribbean.

Judging is complete in the 2017 Yorkton in Bloom yard and garden competition and self guiding tours are available Saturday July 22 between 10 am and 4 pm.

It wasn’t an easy path for the Doukhobors.
