Yorkton This Week

A home at 454 Darlington Street has been given discretionary use approval to operate a child care. “The property is zoned R-1 General Residential and contains a single-detached dwelling.

The City of Yorkton is moving to advertise a list of properties in the city which are in arrears of their property taxes.

Yorkton Council has declared Oct. 31 to Nov. 6 as Agriculture Week in the city.

Veteran’s Week has been declared in Yorkton for Nov. 5-to-11. It was a unanimous decision by Yorkton Council after receiving the request from the General Alexander Rose Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion.

Brett Kemp of Yorkton is one of only 66 players chosen from across Canada to represent the country at the 2016 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. The selected players will be divided into three teams to attend the tournament in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.

The Yorkton RawTec Maulers of the Saskatchewan AAA Midget Hockey Club are sitting on a 4-4 record after this past weekend of play.

Last weekend, the Yorkton RawTec Maulers of the Saskatchewan AAA Hockey Club played two games at the Farrell Agencies Arena, but they weren’t in their normal orange, white and black jerseys. Instead, the Maulers unveiled brand new pink jerseys.

A civic election which attracts 24 candidates for six positions on Council certainly shows interest in our community’s future.

Dear Editor, R.M. of Orkney Divison 1 tax dollars hard at work…. but not in Division 1. Anyone driving the rural roads in Division 1 can readily see the poor condition of the roads in this area. This is not by accident, but rather by design.
