Dear Editor: Recently there was some vandalism in Yorkton. One of our board members was victimized during this time and had their vehicle stolen. In the vehicle were a set of jerseys that were to be given to the new soccer governing body in the City.

It turned out he responded just fine. After stealing the show singlehandedly in Game 6 last Thursday night at the TD Banknorth Garden in Boston, he went up against Kevin Garnett and company in the final game of the Eastern Conference finals.

Weekend weather was good enough as three South East Senior Baseball League (SESBL) games were played out as scheduled. On Sunday, the Parkland Padres and the Yorkton Orioles played games at Jubilee Park.

The Queen Street Water Treatment Plant was officially opened Friday, although the facility has been fully operational for months.

It is with great sadness the family of William Popoff announce his passing at the Yorkton Regional Hospital on May 26, 2012 at the age of 85 years. Bill was born on September 26, 1926 on a farm north of Veregin along with his twin brother Peter.
