The WA WA Shrine Circus was in town on May 29, performing two shows to full houses at Farrell Agencies Arena. Proceeds from the circus go to support the WA WA Shriners and their charity work.

The Yorkton Bulldogs dropped a pair of road games over the weekend. On Saturday they lost 11-5 in Moose Jaw. On Sunday they came up short in a 9-4 loss at Regina. This weekend, they are on the road in Prince Albert to take on the Predators.

From May 28 until June 1, youth from Yorkton's Christ the Teacher Catholic School Division attended the 40th AMPO at Duck Mountain Provincial Park. Students got to experience canoeing, archery, firestarting and a host of outdoor skills.

Gloria Carol Baranesky (nee Frederickson) passed away on May 28, 2012 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre in Yorkton, SK. She was 66 years of age. Gloria was born on December 16, 1945, the daughter of Arthur and Gladys (nee Owen) Frederickson.
