Yorkton This Week

Outdoor skating rinks in Yorkton have been constructed are ready for use weather permitting. The rinks are located at: the Knights of Columbus Park, Heritage Heights, Silver Heights Park, Weinmaster Park, and Appleton Park.

The Harvest will play the Saskatoon Contacts in the first round of the playoffs but the scheduled hasn't been made up yet.

The Yorkton Harvest are going back to the playoffs and minding the net will likely be 17-year-old veteran Kale Thomson. The team qualified for last year's post season and went up against Prince Albert.

After finishing fifth last season, and nearly missing the playoffs, the Yorkton Terriers have wound up the current Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League season atop the league's Sherwood Conference.

Violet (Ogren) Hubick of Regina has notified us that John Davies of Welland, ON passed away on Feb 7, 2011. He was a resident in a nursing home at the time of his passing. He is survived by his wife, Delight (Dee), 2 daughters and 2 grandchildren.
