Shayne Becker has been in the right place at the right time more than once. The Yorkton-area carpenter has come across several highway accidents and always lent a hand - even though the situation has sometimes been grisly.

Kettle target closer

A week of Christmas spirit has helped push the Salvation Army's annual kettle campaign closer to levels which will help the organization offset the costs associated with supplying hampers to less fortunate family's in Yorkton and area this year.

The Yorkton Harvest AAA hockey club is coming off an overtime loss Sunday to the league's top team, Prince Albert. The league is now on Christmas break.

SHHS awards night at St. Mary's

Another season came to an end last week as Sacred Heart announced their award winners for fall sports teams Wednesday night at the St. Mary's Ukrainian Cultural Centre.

New earning exemptions

People with disabilities who are clients of the Saskatchewan Assured Income for Disability (SAID) program and the Saskatchewan Assistance Program (SAP) will benefit from an increase to earnings exemptions, effective February 1, 2011.
