The folk/punk sounds of the Edmonton-based band Audio/Rocketry are headed to Yorkton for a show at 5th Ave Cup & Saucer Sunday, June 27.

Saskatchewan's wet spring has resulted in a significant mosquito hatch. Although the pests emerging now are primarily nuisance species and not the Culex tarsalis mosquito which transmits West Nile Virus, it's never too early to protect yourself.

The Yorkton Tennis Club has released its weekly schedule for 2010. All club activities will take place at the Western Development Museum courts. Play begins on Tuesday evenings with ladies play from 5-7 p.m.

The 11th Annual Charity Golf Classic had an exceptionally strong year with a record $120,660 in pledges raised by the golfers. The funds will purchase equipment for 16 facilities in 13 local communities in Sunrise Health Region.

Gardeners, it's been quite a week! The rain just didn't seem to want to stop, and it's hard to say how our plants fared in that weather.

The purpose of the new firehall is to provide fire and safety protection to the people of Yorkton and area. The shared goal of protecting people all while maintaining a vision for our future was a goal kept at the fore front of the design process.

A meeting of the Dubuc Heritage Worship Centre Committee was held at the home of Mary Nagy on Monday evening May 31 with 7 in attendance. Mary Nagy will continue as Treasurer and Mary Forsberg as recording secretary.
