WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers agreed to contract extensions with American defensive back Nick Taylor and Canadian running back Brady Oliveira on Monday. Taylor's deal is for one year while Oliveira's extension covers two seasons.

TORONTO — The Toronto Argonauts re-signed Canadian receiver Juwan Brescasin on Monday. Brescasin was limited to five games last season due to injury. The Mississauga, Ont., native had five catches for 44 yards and a TD.

OTTAWA — The Ottawa Redblacks released American defensive back Brandin Dandridge on Monday to pursue NFL opportunities.

BEIJING — Canada won a surprise bronze medal in the mixed team ski jumping competition at the Beijing Winter Olympics.

Canadian short-track speedskater Kim Boutin won a bronze medal in the women's 500 metres at the Beijing Olympics on Monday. Boutin, the world record holder in the event, finished in a time of 42.724 seconds.

BEIJING — Canada dominated the men's snowboard slopestyle competition, with Max Parrot winning gold and teammate Mark McMorris claiming bronze. It's the second straight Olympics that Parrot and McMorris have shared the podium in the event.
