A trial for a Meadow Lake man charged with several weapons-related offences and robbery didn’t proceed July 16 after witnesses failed to appear.

In recent years, by mid-July there would be 30 to 50 drilling rigs working throughout Saskatchewan. Nearly all would be drilling for oil, but one or two would be drilling for potash or helium.

The city of North Battleford has announced that effective immediately, the boat launch is reopened. The launch had been closed due to high water levels, rapid currents and debris.

The province was jolted by news of the largest one-day increase in cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan since the pandemic began. There were 42 new cases reported of COVID-19 on July 16, bringing the total to 923 cases.
