Another prominent member of the Battlefords North Stars has departed, this time in a trade. It was announced by the club Tuesday that goaltender Adam Dmyterko has been traded to the Calgary Canucks of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

The North Saskatchewan River Baseball League has moved into their second week of play with all ten teams in action around the league.

Once again the City of North Battleford is getting provincial money through the province’s Municipal Police Grants.

There are five new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on July 15, bringing the total to 881 cases. Three of the new cases are in the Central region, one in the Saskatoon region and one in the South.

A Blaine Lake woman who was released on bail on identity theft, assault and fraud charges, and then re-arrested, was released on bail again. Laticia Juba-Arcand, 27, had an appearance in Saskatoon Provincial Court July 8 by CCTV and she was released.

Here are some highlights from the latest update on COVID-19 by the province. The province will be resuming daily reporting of provincial COVID-19 case numbers on the weekends.

As the Provincial Health Officer for British Columbia, Dr. Bonnie Henry is highly respected and appreciated for the way she has handled information about the spread of corona virus and for how she has provided information for residents.

There are five new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on July 14, bringing the total to 876 cases. Three of the new cases are in the Central region, one in the Saskatoon region and one in the Regina region.

Just west of Preeceville, on the south side of Highway 49 are six rows of large solar panels, facing south. They are the latest addition to the SaskPower grid, producing power since the end of June.

It has been confirmed by the News-Optimist that Pius Pfiefer has passed away. Pfeifer, 90, died in Edmonton on July 11. He was a longtime businessman and community builder in North Battleford who was involved in a number of hotels and other ventures.
