Here are some highlights from the April 9 meeting of North Battleford city council: A good portion of Monday night’s council meeting was devoted to discussion of a request to lower the speed limit on a portion of 99th Street near a daycare centre.

A former member of the Battlefords North Stars is recovering in an Edmonton hospital after a scary situation over the weekend.

UPDATE: The scene has been cleared by the RCMP. There is still some clean up occurring off the roadway, however, traffic flow should not be adversely affected.
