To no one’s surprise, the NDP opposition has blasted the Sask Party government’s 2018 budget for being “more of the same”.

The first provincial budget to be handed down by finance minister Donna Harpauer is forecasting a deficit of $365 million for 2018-19.

Battlefords RCMP are reporting a seizure of a quantity of drugs following a traffic stop of a vehicle on the weekend. At around 9:15 pm on April 8, Battlefords RCMP conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1200 block of 103rd St. in the city.

A service Sunday evening at the Elgar Petersen Arena helped start the grieving process for families of the deceased and Humboldt residents. On Friday, April 6, 2018, a semi collided with a bus north of Tisdale, carrying the Humboldt Broncos.

The RCMP are confirming there was a single vehicle rollover on highway 4 north of North Battleford on Friday. RCMP responded to the scene at approximately 4:50 p.m. that afternoon.

There is a ray of hope for fans of Humboldt Broncos assistant captain Kaleb Dahlgren. It has been confirmed by family members that Dahlgren is one of the Humboldt players who survived the Friday night bus crash.
