At the Embroidery Association of Canada Seminar held in St. John’s, Newfoundland, this May, Marcella Pedersen of Cut Knife received second prize for her stitched picture of the Northern Lights and Inuksuk in the seminar theme competition.

The Borden Friendship Club held their monthly potluck supper May 31, with 39 out to enjoy a bountiful supper. Blowing out the candles on the cakes baked by Eileen Petrun were Ruby Wall, Rita Smith and Eileen Petrun.

Sympathy goes out to the David Grove family of Willowmoor on David's passing. David has been in a senior home in North Battleford.

As the final few days of May rushed by, preparations for the final events of the school year have been underway. The grass is really green on the playground, thanks probably to all those rain showers in May.

As most of you will know, before moving to Maymont I had worked as a case worker for Child Find Saskatchewan.

Borden athletes competed in Districts at Griffiths Stadium on May 26, and the girls did very well.

Sympathy goes out to Edward and Maralyn Wintersgill on the recent passing of Maralyn's mother Bea Mills of River Heights Lodge in North Battleford.

The North Saskatchewan River Municipal Health Holdings held their regular meeting on Monday, May 15th. The NSRMHH board was provided information on the Health Region Transition Team’s progress regarding the transition to one Provincial Health Region.

Happy Summer. A beautiful long weekend in Maymont, the odd dribble but we were still able to get yard work done, coffee on the deck, maybe even a wiener roast. Hope you all had a good one. The library had their annual meeting May 16.
