Things are back to normal for City of North Battleford staff and water officials as the precautionary drinking water advisory has been lifted. The advisory, issued by the Water Security Agency on Aug. 11, was finally lifted at 12:10 p.m.

Crime stats were still showing increases for 2015 in most categories, based on numbers presented at North Battleford City Hall Monday night by Staff Sgt. Darcy Woolfitt of Battlefords RCMP detachment.

On Aug. 14 at approximately 11:05 p.m., Onion Lake RCMP received information regarding a possible hostage situation after threats were made at a residence in Onion Lake.

As of Monday, the Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory (PWDA) was still in effect for the city of North Battleford. A release issued by the City of North Battleford Monday said the test for water borne parasites was returned on Friday, Aug.

Federal New Democrats have officially kicked off the campaign for their candidate Sandra Arias in Battlefords-Lloydminster. Arias was officially nominated at the party’s nomination meeting on Sunday in North Battleford at Third Avenue United Church.

Jersey Street, from south of Canola Avenue to the Saskatchewan Hospital will be closed starting on Aug. 17. It is closed to accommodate the construction of the new Saskatchewan Hospital, and will remain closed until further notice.
