Aug. 4, 2014 is the 100th Anniversary of Canada's entry in World War One.

There will be two road closures today in the Battlefords. The intersection of 102nd Street and 17th Avenue will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. 95th Street is partially closed at the intersection of Killdeer Drive and Territorial Drive between 7 a.m.

The North Battleford RCMP responded to a home invasion Sunday night. At approximately 10:53 p.m., the RCMP received a complaint of two men entering a house armed with bear spray and a baseball bat.

The second round match ups have been set in the NSRBL playoffs. In one series, the Lloydminster Twins host the Wilkie Brewers. Lloydminster advanced to the second round after sweeping the Mervin Flyers.

More than 30 calls for service were reported to the North Battleford RCMP between 6 a.m. Monday, July 28 and 6 a.m. Tuesday, July 29. There were three false or nuisance 911 calls and one false alarm amongst the calls. Monday 8:24 a.m.

LLOYDMINSTER - One mistake cost the North Battleford Beavers dearly Monday night at Legion Ball Park.

It was a slow night for the North Battleford RCMP, receiving approximately 15 calls for service between 6 a.m. Sunday, July 27 and 6 a.m. Monday, July 28. Included in those calls were one false alarm, two domestic disputes and a home invasion.

Drops in cocaine trafficking, failure to stop or remain, and in discharging firearms with intent all contributed to the drop in the Crime Severity Index numbers for North Battleford from a year ago.

PETOVELLO, Christine Melanie: December 8, 1975 - July 20, 2014. On Sunday, July 20, 2014 at the age of 38 years, Christine Melanie Petovello passed away at the Foothills Hospital, Calgary, Alberta.

Thirty members of New Horizons participated in July 21's tournament. First place was determined by a count back after the top two teams posted identical scores. The threesome of Bernie Meisner, Barry Werth and Wally Gordey claimed the top spot.
