North Battleford Fire Department had responded to three call outs Sunday evening. The first came at about 6:50 p.m. when a dumpster fire was reported between Valley Ford Collision and JJ Air Conditioning.

101st Crescent will be closed for most of the day between Borden Crescent and 20th avenue for a water main repair.

When people say they want to incorporate fall colour in their landscape, I'm convinced what they really mean is they want to replicate in their backyard the blaze of fiery colour that engulfs Eastern Canada in September and October.

Turtleford RCMP were called to the scene of a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle that claimed the life of a 38-year-old man Saturday. The collision was reported at 10 p.m. on Highway 26, approximately five kilometres south of St. Walburg.

The North Battleford Fire Department responded to a collision on 100th Street at approximately 9 p.m. Saturday evening. A motorcycle and a vehicle collided in front of Valley Ford on 100th Street.

Battleford is having a record year for construction. Monday evening Battleford town councillors received a building permit summary for August, indicating more than $20 million in construction has been authorized so far this year.

The Battlefords RCMP detachment received nearly 40 calls for service between 6 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 4 and 6 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5.

Battleford town council was able to move ahead with a bylaw to do an asphalt upgrade on 18th Street from Central Avenue to 1st Street, but the plan to do another on 38th has been dropped, at least for this year.
