Now that we have entered lawn-watering season, Neilburg residents are asked to remember to water only on the day that you are scheduled to water.

Grass everywhere is growing very quickly. It is good to see it is so lush and green. I notice the grass has been cut in the village already. That will be an ongoing job from now on.

There were a few mistakes in the last news from the school. Jean Brehon has achieved 20 years of service with the Living Sky School division and Ben Stenerson received a 25-year service award. Also honoured that evening, was bus driver, George Casey.

Early frost can be detrimental to crops especially if the development has been delayed.

The Battleford Midgets and the Unity Bantam Panthers are tied on top of the Battlefords Ladies Fastball League standings two weeks into the season. Battleford is 2-0 to start the season. The Unity Bantams are both 2-1.

With a runner on second in the bottom of the ninth, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Josh Beckett stared down his catcher Drew Butera for sign. The pitch froze Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Chase Utley, giving Beckett a strikeout to end the game.

North Battleford RCMP are investigating the discharge of a firearm at around 12:30 a.m. Thursday in the 900 block of 110th Street. At the scene members found damage to a residence that was found to be consistent with discharge of firearm.

Dear Editor I am thrilled to recycle but those of us who live in a rural setting can no longer recycle because of the public bins being removed.

There are a million square feet of roof throughout Living Sky School Division, and many of them need repair.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, folks, but the upcoming Roughrider football season is doomed.
