These days, one cannot imagine the town of Battleford without Gordon Yarde. He has been active in civic politics as a member of town council for 18 years, and his community involvement goes back even longer to the 1970s.

Warm weather has boosted call outs for the Battlefords RCMP. Members responded to approximately 27 calls for service between 6 a.m. Tuesday, March 11 and 6 a.m. Wednesday. Tuesday 7:54 a.m.

Thaw Advisory

The City of North Battleford is asking drivers to be cognizant whenever driving through puddles. Try not to splash pedestrians, and be mindful that under the water there may be potholes that can be damaging to vehicles.

Dangerous ice

The North Battleford Fire Department is advising residents to stay off ice covered bodies of water ie: the North Saskatchewan River. With the rising temperatures and rapid melting, the ice has become unstable and is extremely unsafe.
