The Battlefords North Stars wrapped up their 2013-14 season with a final team dinner Tuesday night at the Civic Centre. Following the dinner, the team handed out the final two awards of the season.

Maidstone Museum members hosted the annual silent auction in conjunction with the Maidstone Chamber of Commerce trade show April 5 and 6 at the Maidstone Arena. The weatherman co-operated and there was a great turnout.

North Battleford's Steven Latos will be returning to the Saskatoon YellowJackets' rotation for the 2014 Western Major Baseball League season. Latos is currently pitching for Northwood University in Midland, Mich.

Safety was the focus for an early morning breakfast in North Battleford Tuesday. The Contractor Safety Awareness Association, in partnership with Saskatchewan Common Ground Alliance, held their annual Contractor Safety Breakfast at Gold Ridge Centre.

Innovation Credit Union talked about progress at their annual meeting held Monday night in Swift Current and at branches across the province. Innovation's board of directors reported a successful year in 2013.

From April 1-3, Maymont Central School was the site of a special event co-ordinated by Living Sky's arts learning consultant, Sherron Burns.

Winning the $100 for March at the Borden Gas Plus was Audrey Baker. Bev Assman won the coffee card. Borden School is holding a learning fair April 15, with free dessert at 6 p.m.

The board of directors of North West Terminal Ltd. has announced positive financial results for the company after its first three months of operations in 2013-14. For the period beginning Nov. 1, 2013 and ending Jan.

There were just over 20 calls for service placed to Battlefords RCMP between 6 a.m. Tuesday, April 8 and 6 a.m. Wednesday, April 9. Among those calls were six traffic related complaints, two false alarms and two false/nuisance 911 calls.
