The national media hit upon the sad story of Todd Loik's suicide mid-week, and we are sure many in the community are asking where their local newspaper is while this "story" is breaking. We were advised of Todd's suicide Sept.

Activities resume at the centre

Activities are back in full swing at the Maidstone Drop In Centre after two months of holidays. Cards were played Sept. 2 with high score going to Jean Hartman and low to Margaret MacEachern. Lunch was provided by Jean Stewart.

Staff changes at Maymont School

Once again, Maymont Central School is full of activity. The staff started Aug. 26 and the students arrived Sept. 3. Mrs. Sarah Ficko is away this year caring for her new baby daughter, Anna.
