Thirty-eight golfers turned out for the New Horizons Monday morning scramble. The weather was overcast and cool for the most part, but very nice when the sun came out.

Another week of hot weather. Before some wild eyed tree hugger yells "global warming" about the weather, it's not! This is normal. I would like to point out it is July and weather tends to be hot in July. It has been this way for years.

McCONNELL: In Loving Memory of Lois Rosanna McConnell who was born April 17, 1936 at Mervin, SK and passed away June 22, 2013 at North Battleford, SK.

GRATTON: In Loving Memory of Joseph Fredrick Wilfred Gratton who was born March 17, 1922 at St. Hippolyte, SK and passed away June 26, 2013 at Edam, SK.

McGUIRE: In Loving Memory of Anastasia (Nettie) McGuire (nee: Serheniuk) - Born October 10, 1920 and passed away peacefully on June 28, 2013 surrounded by family and caregivers at the Battlefords District Care Centre, Battleford, SK.

Now is the perfect time for an update on what has been a competitive and dog-eat-dog box office season during the summer of 2013. As expected we have had a very busy box office with a number of notable hits.

KARPLUK: In Loving Memory of Paul Karpluk who was born October 26, 1927 at Hafford District, SK and passed away June 28, 2013 at Hafford, SK.

Once again a major cabinet shuffle has not resulted in any changes for Battlefords-Lloydminster MP Gerry Ritz. Ritz stays on as minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, the same cabinet role Ritz has held in the Conservative government since 2007.

Ornamental perennial grasses have been catching on in the gardens for a while now. But for the uninitiated, they add height, colour and a spiky texture that is unique to this group of perennials.
