Sentencing commenced Monday for a woman accused of cocaine-dealing in Battleford. Kim Geering was being sentenced for trafficking cocaine under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act. Sentencing is far from being concluded, however.

The long-speculated new Tim Hortons location in the town of Battleford continues to move closer to reality. The latest news is that the Battleford Towne Square Ltd.

Borden Diefenbaker Days were held May 31 - June 2, with great weather for all the events. May 31 was the perogy and ham supper put on by the Borden Community Centre Preservation Committee, with very good attendance.

We have had a week of nice weather. On Saturday it rained all day in Lloydminster. At Waseca it just spit, the windshield wipers on slow intermittent kept the window cleared so I could see.

After only one year at the Badlands Baseball Academy in Oyen, Alta., Grade 11 student, Rhett Feser of Unity, has made a name for himself. In the Badgers' Facebook page newsfeed, reviews on Rhett's performance have been outstanding.

The route of the Battleford parade will be changed up this year. It will begin and end at Fort Battleford, unlike previous years when it formed up on the track behind St. Vital School.
