Forensic investigators from North Battleford are assisting the investigation in Dillon of a break and enter and assault in that northern community. The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday. RCMP say they were called in at 3 a.m.

Two vehicle fires
A vehicle is a total loss after a fire Tuesday at about 5:45 p.m. North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services responded to the blaze, but the vehicle was engulfed in flame when they arrived. Four firefighters were on the scene for about 30 minutes.

Rollover death north of Maymont
This past weekend was a deadly one on Northwest area roads. In addition to a fatal hit-and-run at Poundmaker First Nation comes word of a vehicle rollover in the RM of Mayfield, north of Maymont Sunday. The incident happened around 3:15 p.m.

Bone-jarring, teeth-rattling, tire-swallowing potholes cost $700
We first noticed there was a problem a few months ago. The driver-side front tire was nearly flat. Somehow, we picked up a long screw. Thankfully, the tire shop got us in and fixed just before closing, a fact for which we were grateful.
