It was a busy last few days for local emergency and fire crews responding to a number of minor incidents. Feb. 6, North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services report they responded to alarms ringing at a house on Clark Drive.

February 8 1983 - Wayne Gretzky sets and National Hockey League record with four goals in one period in an all-star game. 1991 - Roger Clemens signs a record contract worth $5,380,250 per year with the Boston Red Sox.

February comes along and people start thinking about love. Instead of just thinking about the love of your life, think about other things you could love, like your library. February is Love Your Library Month.

The Neilburg United Church held their annual Poor Man's Supper Jan. 24 in the church lower hall. A large crowd attended, enjoying a fabulous supper of home made soups and breads, jams and jellies.

Leipzig Serenity Retreat held another wonderful supper and concert a few weeks ago. This time, Tilly and the Billygoats entertained the crowd, with approximately 40 guests in attendance.

A lifetime achievement award from the Saskatchewan Cattlemen's Association was presented at the Saskatchewan Beef Conference Jan.

Monday morning the temperature was - 5 C. For the last while the temperature has been up and down. Last Monday it was very cold with the temperature down to - 32 C, remaining cold during the early part of last week.

Hafford held its annual Winterama Jan. 25 to 27 with a large slate of activities to entertain individuals from the preschoolers to seniors.

The two mayors from the Battlefords - Ian Hamilton of North Battleford and Derek Mahon of Battleford - were busy representing their municipalities at the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association convention in Saskatoon.

The members of the Battlefords Art Club gathered again on Tuesday to paint. As usual, camaraderie was key and there were many ideas exchanged.
