Junior Royals win second straight district title

The Edam Royals hosted the junior boys NWSD district volleyball playoffs, Oct. 27. There were eight teams which qualified for the district playoffs after competing in their division playoffs. The teams were divided into two pools of four teams.

Colder November than in recent years

It seems hard to believe but we are only six weeks from the shortest day of the year! Now this is a November to remember, with a lot colder temperatures and a lot more snow than the last few years at least.

Traffic delayed

There were traffic delays on the Highway 16 bypass Friday at about 9:30 a.m. after two vehicles collided. North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services report no injuries, but both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Grand opening service for replica of church

The grand opening of the mini St. Bridget's Anglican Church was held Oct. 7 at the cemetery grounds. The church bell rang a few minutes before the opening. It was a cool, cloudy, windy day, but almost at the stroke of the 3 p.m.

It was a fairly routine night Tuesday for the new 2012-16 North Battleford city council. The new council was sworn in at a meeting the previous week, but that meeting was ceremonial in nature.
