The 2012 Municipal and School Board Election is on Wednesday, October 24th. However, those who cannot vote on election day can vote in the Advance Polls on October 10th, 11th, 17th, 18th and 20th at the North Battleford Public Library.

JONES - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Roy Edwin Jones, late of North Battleford, Saskatchewan on September 25, 2012 at the age of 95 years. Roy was born on May 1, 1917 at Robin Hood, Saskatchewan.

The Martinsville Saints just couldn't hold onto the football against the John Paul II Crusaders Friday night.

It was a slow start for the Battlefords Barons Sunday against the Meadow Lake Stampeders in Centre Four League play, but a fast finish. A first-period Stampeders goal was their high point of the game.

RCMP are investigating the attempted theft of a semi and trailer unit parked in a field north of Cut Knife sometime between Sept. 8 and 9. Anyone with any information regarding this incident should contact Crime Stoppers or the Cut Knife RCMP.

Former Battlefords Midget Star and North Star, Justin Waskewitch of Cut Knife is back in his home part of the province for his final year of junior hockey. Friday, Waskewitch was acquired by the North Stars from the Nipawin Hawks.
