Baseball has been a rich tradition in Saskatchewan, especially in the Northwest and that tradition held true as the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum announced the class of 2012.

Idly enjoying my breakfast this morning, I was suddenly acutely aware of the most melodious sounds echoing through the house. I ran to the back door quickly opening it, expecting to see the source of the magnificent choir.

Permit values rebounded in March in North Battleford after taking a dip in February. According to the March numbers from City Building Inspector Jerry Wintonyk, released last week, six building permits were issued for $3,788,000.

An effort is underway to dedicate a sports field in the Battlefords in honor of famed NFL running back Rueben Mayes.

There was interest Monday, but no bids submitted in a draw for 39 lots that are part of Phase III of the Fairview Heights subdivision. As a result, the 39 lots were up for sale as of Tuesday morning, on a first-come first-served basis.

The city has been tasked to look into addressing the slumping in the road on Douglas Avenue. The issue came up at city council April 9, when Councillor Brad Pattinson brought it up as an inquiry.
