The issue of whether to open an off-leash dog park has come to Battleford town council. At their meeting Sept.

The Northwest School Division has established a third Transition School in Maidstone to serve the needs of students in the southern portion of the division.

The town of Battleford carried a resolution at last week's meeting to purchase a lot at 102-23rd St. W. that will serve as parking for the Battleford Opera House. The lot is being purchased for PJ Lefevre Holdings Ltd. for $65,000, GST included.

Battlefords RCMP are investigating a series of vandalism and break and enters that occurred in the Battlefords this weekend.

With just a month before the writ is dropped on the 2011 provincial election, the provincial Green Party has been thrown into leadership turmoil.

Emergency crews responded Saturday to a two-vehicle collision on Pearson Avenue on the 1900 block in North Battleford. The collision took place around 11:51 a.m. and there were injuries to vehicle occupants, who were sent to hospital by EMS.

Two individuals have been taken to hospital following a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Territorial Drive and 8th Avenue. The incident happened Sept. 6 around 5:50 p.m.

The Battlefords Humane Society is encouraging dog owners to register and vaccinate their pets after an outbreak of canine parvovirus, which spreads from dog to dog.

Aug. 28 at 8:50 p.m., Battlefords RCMP responded to a complaint of a vehicle striking a pedestrian at the intersection of 100th Street and 18th Avenue. The vehicle fled the scene.
