One of the best features of the small town rodeo is often some local talent gets mixed in with the stalk of experienced cowboys and cowgirls and it makes for an exciting weekend of rodeo.

Tuesday was a big day for Battlefords Agency Tribal Chiefs Community Development Corporation, and an even bigger day for the projects it was assisting in the community.

Waseca's first farmers' market was held Aug. 13. Although there were not many tables, those who brought produce and baking did well. People came throughout the day, many coming for lunch as well. The next farmers' market will be held Aug. 27.
