Council ices ATV ice cream proposal

North Battleford council has put on ice a proposal by a local entrepreneur to operate a mobile ice cream stand on modified all-terrain vehicles.

Fire at WPD Ambulance

Fire crews were on the scene at WPD Ambulance to douse a fire that broke out in an ambulance in their garage bay at 1072 - 103rd St. Four firefighters and the fire chief attended the scene for a half hour.

Wednesday marked the first day of the Battlefords Ladies Fastball League and all eight teams were scheduled to start the season.

Shellbrook suspicious death

Shellbrook RCMP are investigating a suspicious death that occurred over the weekend on the Ahtahakakoop First Nation. At around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 1, Shellbrook RCMP received a call about a disturbance at a residenceon the First Nation.

Fire burns down Moosomin hall

A fire set by a minor under 12 years old has burned down the community hall at Moosomin First Nation. The fire happened Friday with Battlefords Rural RCMP responding around 3:30 p.m. April 29.

Stabbing to the face

The investigation continues into a May 2 incident in which a man was stabbed in the face. The incident happened on the 1400 block of 101st Street around 10:30 p.m.

Residence broken into

A residence on 2nd Avenue West in Landis was broken into sometime between April 1 and 22. Unity/Wilkie/Macklin RCMP say a handle was forced off the door to gain entry. No one was home at the time.

Ready to drop the ball on new season

The Saskatchewan Ball Hockey Leagues is three years old and for the first time games will be played in the Battlefords. Due to the number of participants entered and the age range there will be two separate leagues operating in the Battlefords.
